Stop Child Cruelty Trust is a charitable organisation focused on ending violence against children, especially ending corporal punishment of children in Sri Lanka. We believe all children, regardless of gender, culture, religion and socio-economic background, have the right to grow up in safety. We build awareness, raise funds, and mobilize Sri Lankans to help advance children’s rights and well-being; ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The registration of an appeal to UNHRC of a 11 year old Sri Lankan girl against corporal punishment is a historic first in the world and Stop Child Cruelty Trust believes that final deliberation of the UNHRC in this case will help mold child protection into a binding cast on a platform never reached before in Sri Lanka and worldwide. We work in partnership with UNICEF, Child Fund and other NGOs.
