Motherland Somalia

Motherland Somalia is a grassroots community-based NGO operating in the Jubaland state of Somalia. The organization was created by youthful intellects moved by the plight of children in Somalia. Established back in 2015, the agency aims to end the violence that shapes children’s lives & protect their human rights.
Over the years, we have been haunted by my many encounters with children scarred by unspeakable acts of violence, enduring traumatic experiences of neglect, sexual abuse, and exploitation, and often stigmatized by their own communities. Violence against children is a silent emergency that must end and zero tolerance for violence against children is a priority that we should be committed to pursuing.
Abuse of children is a daily occurrence in Somalia, from armed conflict to online exploitation. Motherland focuses on ending violence against children in all its forms, We believe all children, regardless of gender, culture, religion, and socio-economic background, have the right to grow up in safety and protect from all sorts of harm. We build awareness and mobilize people to help advance children’s rights and well-being; ensuring every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
We undertake programs that protect children from violence, exploitation, and abuse. We promote public policy and practices in the best interest of children to contribute to the fulfillment of children’s rights in Somalia. Motherland utilizes its influence not only to provide safety for children in need but also to make a noticeable change in their overall outlook on life.
The agency believes that if we create a safe, nurturing environment, then every child will get a chance in life regardless of circumstances. As CBO agency, we are active in all parts of Jubaland state of Somalia and indeed saved more children’s lives over the years.
