Mamie Foundation, Sierra Leone

Mamie Foundation (MF) was founded as a Non-Governmental Organisation in loving memory of Mamie Kamara (1963-1991), a young and industrious woman whose ambition and support for just and equitable society helped women and young people realised their potential in her community in Sierra Leone. MF is committed to extending Mamie’s work to all vulnerable children, young people and women by giving them hope and opportunity to realise their full potential and become productive members of society.
We are committed to working alongside with partners to change children, young people and women’s world for good by breaking the cycle of social inequality and poverty in many areas of need including education, health, social support, employment and advocacy. Our work is informed by the need to address the increasingly social injustice and inequality at local, national and global levels that push many disadvantaged children, young people and women further to the margins.
