Instituto Cidade Segura

Instituto Cidade Segura is a civil society organization that develops and disseminates programs based on scientific evidence to qualify public policies for the prevention and reduction of violence in Brazil.

Our work has two main axes. We work in partnership with cities across the country to implement law enforcement strategies to reduce violence and improve the quality of work in the justice system and police forces. On the other hand, we develop and implement programs of socioemotional education, mindfulness, non-violent communication and cognitive behavioural techniques for families, schools and communities aiming to break the intergenerational cycle of violence and reduce the victimization of children and young people. We believe that every child has the right to grow and develop free from violence and that it is never too early or too late to prevent violence.
