ECPAT Philippines

ECPAT Philippines, established in 1991 is part of a global network of organizations and individuals working together for the elimination of child prostitution, child pornography and the trafficking of children for sexual purposes. It seeks to encourage the world community to ensure that children everywhere enjoy their fundamental rights free and secure from all forms of commercial sexual exploitation. It has been at the forefront of campaigns and national and local level advocacy work against all forms of child sexual exploitation, increasing awareness about this phenomenon and creating a mass of support and targeted actions for legislation, direct services and other forms of intervention to strengthen and sustain the child protection system in the country. ECPAT’s legislative advocacy has been instrumental in the passage of landmark laws in the Philippines. It has recently engaged itself more actively on the issues surrounding online sexual exploitation of children. ECPAT Philippines has worked and continues to work with donor institutions such as the Church of Sweden, Defence for Children-Netherlands, DKA-Austria, UNICEF, Terre des Hommes Netherlands, and has engaged a private institution through its corporate social responsibility program to advance its advocacies on child protection.
