Creative Assistant and Development (CAD)

Creative Assistance and Development (CAD) is a local, non-governmental humanitarian and development organization that aims to find sustainable solutions to improve the living standards of communities. Focus is on reaching those most vulnerable in various sectors, including Education, Health and Nutrition, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Livelihoods and Food security, Protection and community outreach programmes, and to thus contribute to the ultimate goal of the organization: To end poverty through implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in all our areas of operation.

Founded in 2017 by a team of dedicated philanthropists, the non-profit organization aims to end poverty, but also focuses on several other issues faced by people living in rural and/or poor communities. Its main social development goals include eliminating extreme poverty, increasing financial opportunities, developing skills for employment, and investing in education. Additionally, CAD also focuses on mobilization of communities and empowering them to sustainably carry out projects that will strengthen their resilience and hence reduce their vulnerability through creation of sustainable livelihoods and access to basic services.

To this end, CAD empowers crisis-affected communities to better manage local risks and shocks for increased resilience and self-reliance through agriculture, environment protection, and water and sanitation interventions. Creative Assistance and Development (CAD) mainly focuses on actions that directly improve on the lives of the poor, vulnerable and marginalized communities in urban, peri-urban and rural areas. CAD also invests in community empowerment programs that contribute towards poverty eradication through the provision of sustainable integrated technical and material support, in broad areas of sustainable agriculture, environmental conservation, health promotion, education improvement, income generation, water and environmental sanitation, lobbying and advocacy.
