The African Network for the Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect (ANPPCAN) is a non for profit organization registered under the laws of Liberia. ANPPCAN started as a Pan African Organization in Enugu, Nigeria 1986 but has its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Liberian Chapter was established in 2002 and is duly registered as a National NGO operating in Liberia. ANPPCAN’s Liberia mandate is to enhance child protection through building the capacities of the local community, national government, professional groups to protect children. By strengthening these structures, ANPPCAN is of the view that prevention and response mechanism against child abuse is guaranteed.

ANPPCAN works extensively on children, youth and gender cross cutting issues. ANPPCAN Liberia’s strategies for preventing child abuse and Gender Bases Violence aim to reduce the underlying core-causes and risk factors; and strengthen the protective factors at individual, family, community and society level.
