Since 2010, African Friends Service Community (AFSCO) has been fighting for the rights of all children to live peacefully & without exploitation, to benefit from quality free education, to thrive in economic security & justice, and to prosper with access to clean water, good health care, & nutrition. Our Vision All children in Busoga region, eastern Uganda enjoying their rights, improved livelihoods, being cared, protected for and having equal opportunities to realize their full potential. Our Mission To end violence against children in Busoga region, eastern Uganda through, advocacy, psycho-social, legal support and capacity building. Objectives To increase awareness on the negative effects of sexual violence and influence change on related policies. Reduced number of children especially girls getting married before the age of 18. To increase psycho social and legal support for children. Increase enrollment, retention and achieved learning outcomes of children in schools. To protect children and increase community response to any harmful forms of violence against children. To promote the Child survival and development through improved reproductive health services Values Integrity: We bring the highest ethical standards to all our decisions and actions. Transparency and Accountability: We are open and honest in everything we do and we strive to optimize the systems in place that make us accountable to all our stakeholders. Optimism: We focus on the positive difference we can make to children's lives and celebrate success. Resource fullness: We look for innovative ways to minimize our costs and maximize our effectiveness and impact. Children's wellbeing is hinged on the application of their rights. Many of Uganda's children suffer because their rights are violated everyday. Yet we know that the future of a nation is the children.
