Action for Mothers and Children

Action for Mothers and Children (AMC) was established in 2009 as a Foundation for Healthy Mothers and Babies and has grown into Action for Mothers and Children since 2013. Its foremost goal is to save the lives of children and improve the health care for mothers in the Republic of Kosovo, which has the highest mortality rate in the Balkans. In cooperation with other stakeholders, It has worked to decreased the infant mortality rate in Kosovo from around 30 per 1000 live births in 2000 to around 11 per 1000 births in 2019. In order to fulfill its mission of saving lives and improving the health of mothers and children in the Republic of Kosovo, AMC advocates vigorously for better healthcare for women and children, studies their health problems and health care systems that address these problems, develops and implements programs and projects that will help to improve the health of women and children, and collaborates with strategic partners and other stakeholders that have similar goals and objectives.
